Gluten & MSG Statement
Rib City’s signature recipe barbecue sauce base is manufactured by Ken’s Foods to our specifications.
“As a food manufacturer, Ken’s Foods, Inc. uses gluten in numerous products, but they do follow all FDA guidelines for food manufacturers. Due to the configuring of their process, they cannot guarantee that their products are 100% gluten free. Product lines are cleaned between allergenic and
non-allergenic ingredients to prevent any type of cross-contamination. The modified food starch listed in our BBQ Sauces is derived from Tapioca.”
The Sweet, Tangy, Hot and Carolina Mustard sauces have the following ingredients added at the restaurant level – brown sugar, Tabasco hot sauce, Louisiana hot sauce, Cayenne Pepper, prepared Yellow Mustard and Apple Cider Vinegar.
The Sweet BBQ Sauce is used to baste the following meats during the smoking process – Baby Back Ribs, St. Louis Ribs, Smoked Chicken and Riblets. Rib City does not baste our Pulled Pork, Smoked Pork, Beef or Turkey.
Many of our products contain or may come into contact with common allergens, including wheat, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, milk, eggs, fish and shellfish. Our restaurant and catering menus vary by location due to, among other things, distributors and local requirements. As distributors vary from state to state Rib City Group, Inc. cannot guarantee what the specific ingredients are in some of the ready-made items that we use in our recipes, but the local restaurant Manager should be able to obtain an ingredients list from the products’ label if some of these menu items are a concern.
If you have an allergy concern, please ask a manager at your local Rib City to check the ingredient listing for specific menu items. Please note that we cannot guarantee that any of our menu items are free of allergens because we use shared equipment and handle common allergens throughout our supply chain and within our restaurant locations.
MSG is listed as an ingredient in our Hidden Valley Ranch (and Spicy Ranch) dry salad dressing mix.
